कबहुुक मन गगनहि चढ़ै, कबहु गिरै पाताल
कबहु मन अनमुनै लगै, कबहु जाबै चाल।
कभी तो मन मगन में बिहार करता है। और कभी पाताल लोक में गिर जाता है।
कभी मन ईश्वर के गहन चिंतन में रहता है और कभी सांसारिक बिषयों में भटकता रहता है।यह मन अत्यंत चंचल है।
Kabahuk Mann gaganahi chadhai,kabahu giray patal
Kabahu Mann unmuni lagai,kabahu jabai chal.
Sometimes the mind ascends to the sky,sometimes it falls to the lower regions
Sometimes it is in deep concentration and at other it roams in worldly affairs.
कबीर बैरी सबल है, एक जीव रिपु पांच
अपने अपने स्वाद को, बहुत नचाबै नाच।
कबीर कहते हैं कि शत्रु बहुत प्रवल है। जीव एक है पर उसके दुश्मन पाॅंच हैं ।
वे अपने स्वाद पसंद के मुताविक हमें बहुत नाच नचाते हैं।
Kabir bairi sabal hai,ek jiv ripu panch
Apne apne swad ko,bahut nachabai nach.
Kabir says enemy is very strong,one life and five enemies
It makes you dance much as per its own taste and likings.
कबीर मन गाफिल भया, सुमिरन लागे नाहि
घानि सहेगा सासना, जम की दरगाह माहि।
कबीर के अनुसार यह मन अत्यंत मूर्ख है और इसे प्रभु के स्मरण में ध्यान नहीं लगता है।
इसे अंत में यमराज के दरवार में बहुत दंड भोगना पड़ेगा।
Kabir Mann gafil bhaya,sumiran lage nahi
Ghani sahega sasna,jam ki dargah mahi.
The mind has become fool,it does not like remembrance
It will have to bear punishment in the court of God of death.
कबीर मन परबत भया, अब मैं पाया जान
तन की लागी प्रेम की, निकसी कंचन खान।
कबीर के अनुसार मन पहाड़ की भाॅंती हो गया है-यह मैं अब जान पाया हूॅं। जब से इसमे प्रेम का बंधन लगा है
तो सोने की खान निकल गया है। प्रभु से प्रेम का बंधन बहुत कीमती है।
Kabir Mann parbat bhaya, aab main paya jan
Tan ki lagi prem ki, niksi kanchan khan.
The mind has become like a mountain, now I have come to know
The love has been stitched to it, the mine of gold has come out.
कबीर यह मन लालची, समझै नाहि गवार
भजन करन को आलसी, खाने को तैयार।
कबीर के अनुसार यह मन बहुत लालची है। यह गॅवार की तरह नहीं समझता है।
प्रभु की भक्ति के लिये आलसी बना रहता है परंतु खाने भोजन के लिये हमेशा तैयार रहता है।
Kabir yeh Mann lalchi,samjhai nahi gawar
Bhajan karan ko aalsi, khane ko taiyar.
This mind is greedy,do not understand the rustic
It is sluggish in remembering God but always ready to eat.
चंचल मन निशचल करै, फिर फिर नाम लगाय
तन मन दोउ बसि करै, ताको कछु नहि जाय।
इस चंचल मन को स्थिर करें। इसे निरंतर प्रभु के नाम में लगावें।
अपने शरीर और मन को वश में करें आप का कुछ भी नाश नहीं होगा।
Chanchal Mann nishchal karai,fir fir nam lagay
Tan Mann dowi basi karai,tako kachhu nahi jay.
Fix mind and absorb it in taking name
Nothing is lost for one who controls both body and mind.
चिन्ता चित्त विशारिये फिरि बुझिये नहीं आन
इंद्री पसारा मेटिये,सहज मिलिये भगवान।
मन में चिंताओं को भूल जाईये और दूसरों से भी उनकी चिंताओं को मत पूछिये।
अपने बिषय इन्द्रियों को फैलने से नियंत्रन करें। आप सहज हीं प्रभु को पा लेगें।
Chinta chitt vishariye firi bujhiye nahi aan
Indri pasara metiye,sahaj miley Bhagban.
Forget your worries, don’t think about anxiety coming back
Control your senses from expanding,you will easily find the God.
जहां बाज बासा करै, पंछी रहै ना और
जा घट प्रेम परगट भया, नाहि करम को थौर।
जहाॅं बाज पक्षी रहते है वहाॅं कोई अन्य पक्षी नहीं रह पाता है।
जिस शरीर में परमात्मा का प्रेम प्रगट हो जाये वहाॅं पाप एंव दुष्कर्म के लिये कोई जगह नहीं है।
Jahan baj basa karai, panchhi rahai na aur
Ja ghat prem pargat bhaya,nahi karam ko thaur.
Where resides a hawk,no other bird lives there
Where love appears in the body,there is no place for sin or vice.
तेरा बैरी कोइ नहीं, जो मन शीतल होय
तु आपा को डारि दे, दया करै सब कोय।
यदि आप अपने मन को शीतल शांत पवित्र कर लें तो आपका कोई शत्रु नहीं हो सकता।
यदि आप अपने घमंड और अहंकार को त्याग दे तो सभी लोग आपको प्रेम करेंगे।
Tera bairi koi nahi,jo Mann shital hoye
Tu aapa ko dari de,daya kare sab koye.
If the mind is pure and cool,you don’t have any enemy
If you abandon your arrogance,everyone will love you.
तन की भूख सहज अहै तीन पाव की सेर
मन की भूख अनन्त है, निगलै मेरु सुमेरु।
शरीर का भूख अत्यंत साधारण है-यह तीन पाव या एक किलो से मिट सकता हैं।
पर मन का भूख अनन्त होता है जो सुमेरु पर्वत को भी निगल सकता है।
Tan ki bhukh sahaj ahai teen paw ki ser
Mann ki bhukh anant hai,niglai meru sumeru.
The hunger of the body is small – about three fourth or a kilo
But the hunger of the mind is infinite,it can swallow the mount Sumeru.
मन के हारे हार है, मन के जीते जीत
कहे कबीर हरि पाइये, मन ही के परतीत.
मन के हारने पर आप हारते है और मन के विजय होने पर आप जीत जाते हैं।
कबीर के अनुसार यदि मन में पूर्णविश्वास हो तो आप प्रभु को सुगमता से पा सकते है।
Mann ke hare har hai,Mann ke jeete jeet
Kahe Kabir Hari paiye,Mann hi ke parteet.
You are defeated if the mind is defeated,you have won if the mind has won
Kabir says you will get the GOD,if the mind has got the God.
मन के मारे बन गये, बन तजि बस्ती माहि
कहं कबीर क्या किजीये, येह मन ठहरै नाहि।
मन को नियंत्रित करके वन में गये और पुनः वन छोड़कर बस्ती में लौट गये।
कबीर कहते हैं कि क्या करुॅं यह मन कहीं स्थिर नहीं होता है।
Mann ke mare ban gaye,ban taji basti mahi
Kahn Kabir kya kijiye,yeh Mann thaharai nahi.
Went to forest to control the overpowering mind, leaving forest returned to the village,
Kabir says what to do,this mind does not stay at one place.
मन के मते ना चलिये, मन के मते अनेक
जो मन पर अस्वार है, सो साधू कोइ एक।
मन के कहने पर मत चलें। मन के अनेक विचार रहते है।
जो मन सर्वदा एक स्थिर रहता है-वह दुर्लभ मन कोई एक होता है।
Mann ke mate na chaliye ,Mann ke mate anek
Jo Mann par aswar hai,so sadhu koi ek.
Don’t walk as per the view of mind,there are different views of mind
One who rides on the mind,he is a saint rare one.
मन के बहुतक रंग है, छिन छिन बदले सोय
एक रंग मे जो रहे, एैसा बिरला कोय।
मन के अनेको रंग-विचार है और यह क्षण-क्षण बदलता रहता है।
जो मत सर्वदा एक मन में स्थिर रहता है-वह दुर्लभ कोई एक संत होता है।
Mann ke bahutak rang hai,chhin chhin badle soye
Ek rang me jo rahe,aisa birla koye.
There are different colours of mind,it changes every now and then
One who remains in one colour,so is a rare one.
मन के मिरतक देखि के, मति माने बिसवास
साधु तहां लगि भय करै, जब लगि पिंजर स्वास।
मन को मरा देख कर भरोसा मत करो। एक साधु मन से तब तक भयभीत रहता है जब
तक उसका साॅंस चलता रहता है। मन बहुत चंचल है अतः सावधान रहना पड़ता है।
Mann ke mirtak dekhi ke,mati Manne biswas
Sadhu tahan lagi bhay karai,jab lagi pinjar swas.
Seeing mind as dead, do not believe it
A saint is fearful so long,there is breath in the body.
मन कुंजर महमंत था, फिरत गहिर गंभीर
दुहरि,तिहरि,चैहरि,परि गयी प्रेम जंजीर।
यह मन नशेमें झूमता मस्त हाथी की तरह इधर-उधर भागता फिरता है।
परंतु जब उसे दो तीन चार फेरे वाली चेन से जकड़ दिया गया तो वह शांत हो गया।
यह चेन जंजीर प्रेम का हीं था। प्रेम चित्त को शांत करने का प्रवल उपाय है।
Mann kunjar mahMannt tha,firta gahir gambhir
Duhari,tihari,chauhari,pari gayee prem janjeer.
The mind was like drunk elephant,roaming here and there,up and down
When it was twice thrice or fourth time chained with love,it became calm.
मन अपना समुझाय ले, आया गफिल होय
बिन समुझै उठि जायेगा, फोगट फेरा तोय।
अपने मन को समझा लो। तुम अनावश्यक भ्रम में पड़े हो। अगर समझ रहते नहीं समझाओगे
तो यह शरीर उठ जायेगा और अनावश्यक पुनर्जन्म के चक्कर में भटकता रहेगा।
Mann apna samujhai le,aaya gafil hoye
Bin samujhai uthi jayega,fogat fera toye.
You understand your mind has become negligent
It will go without understanding and roll down in unnecessary wandering.
मन दाता मन लालची, मन राजा मन रंक
जो येह मन हरि सो मिलय,तो हरि मिलय निशंक।
यह मन ही सभी सुखो का दाता है। पर मन बहुत लालची है। मन ही राजा और मन ही भिखारी है।
यदि यह मन ईश्वर से जुट जाये तो परमात्मा निश्चय हीं मिल जायेंगे।

Mind is the giver mind is greedy,mind is the king and mind is poor
If this mind meets with God then you get the God without doubt.
मन चलती तन भी चलै, ताता मन को घेर
तन मन दौउ बसि करै, होय राई सुमेर।
मन के मुताविक ही शरीर भी चलता है। अतः मन का नियंत्रन करो।
अदि तुम अपने मन और शरीर दोनों को अपने वश में कर लो तो राई को भी पर्वत कर सकते हो।
मन और शरीर के नियंत्रण से तुच्छ व्यक्ति भी महान बन सकता है।
Mann chalti tan bhi chalai,tata Mann ko gher
Tan Mann dou basi karai,hoye raiyee Sumer.
Mind walks then body also walks,therefore bind the mind
If you can control both mind and body,a particle can become the hill.
मन निर्मल हरि नाम सौं, कई साधन कई भाय
कोइला दुनो कालिमा, सौ मन साबुन लाय।
यह मन प्रभु के नाम या ध्यान और अन्य साधनों के उपयोग से पवित्र होता है।
यह कोयला से भी दूगूना काला है। और यह सौ मन साबुन से भी साफ नहीं हो सकता है।
Mann nirmal Hari nam soin,kai sadhan kai bhai
Koila duno kalima,sau Mann sabun lai.
The mind becomes pure with God’s name or with concentration or other resource
It is doubly blackish than coal,even hundred mounds of soap can never clean it.
मन नहि छारै विषय रस, विषय ना मन को छारि
इनका येहि सुभाव है, पुरि लागि आरि।
मन बिषयों से आशक्ति नहीं छोड़ता है। विषया शक्ति मन को बाॅंधें रखता है।
यह इन दोनों का सहज स्वभाव है कारण उनके उपर अज्ञान का परदा पड़ा हुआ है।
Mann nahi chharai vishay ras,vishay na Mann ko chhari
Inka yehi subhav hai,puri lagi aari.
The mind does not leave sensual desires which also doesnot leave the mind
This is their behaviour as there is a curtain of ignorance on it.
मन ही को परमोधिये, मन ही को उपदेश
जो येह मन को बसि करै, शीश होय सब देश।
मन को ज्ञानी बनावें और मन को हीं उपदेश शिक्षा दें। यदि कोई अपने मन को
नियंत्रित कर ले तो वह संपूर्ण विश्व को वश में कर सकता है।
Mann hi ko parmodhiye, Mann hi ko updesh
Jo yeh Mann ko basi karai, shish hoye sab desh.
Make the mind knowledgible, provide sermon to the mind
One who controls the mind can control the whole universe.
मनहि मनोरथ छाारि दे तेरा किया ना होय
पानी मे घी निकसै रुखा खाये ना कोय।
अपने मन से इच्छाओं का परित्याग करो। तुम्हारे करने से कुछ भी नहीं हो सकता है।
पानी से कभी घी नहीं निकल सकता है अन्यथा कोई भी आदमी रोटी बिना घी के नहीं खाता।
Mannahi Mannorath chhari de,tera kiya na hoye
Pani me ghee niksai,rukha khaye na koye.
You sacrifice all the desires from the mind,you cannot do anything
You cannot get the clarified butter from the water otherwise no one would ever eat bread without butter.
कबीर मन कु मारि ले, सब आपा मिट जाय
पगला है पियु पियु करै, पिछै काल ना खाय।
कबीर कहते है कि यदि कोई ध्यान साधना के द्वारा मन को मार ले तो उस का अंहकार
समाप्त हो जायेगा और वह प्रभु का दीवाना होकर उसे पुकारता रहेगा। तब मृत्यु भी उसे नहीं खा सकता है।
Kabir Mann ku mari le,sab aapa miti jaye
Pagla hai piu piu karai,pichhai kal na khaye.
If you can blow your mind,you will end your pride
A crazy mind will always call God and the death will not devour him.
कबीर मन तो एक है, भाबै तहां लगाय
भाबै गुरु की भक्ति कर, भाबै विषय समाय।
कबीर कहते है यह मन तो एक ही है। तुम्हारी जहाॅं इच्छा हो इसे वहाॅं लगाओ
मन हो तो इसे प्रभु भक्ति में समर्पित करो या विषय भोगों में लगाओ।
Kabir Mann to ek hai,bhabai tahan lagaye
Bhabai guru ki bhakti kar,bhabai vishay samai.
Kabir says the mind is one,you tie it where ever you like it
If you wish you devote it to your master,else you keep it with sensual desires.
कबीर मन मरकत भया, नेक ना कहु ठहराय
हरि नाम बांधै बिना, जित भाबै तित जाये।
कबीर के अनुसार यह मन बंदर की भाॅंति है। जो क्षण भर के लिये भी कहीं नहीं ठहरता है।
इसकी जहाॅं इच्छा होती है-यह चला जाता है। यदि इसे हरि नाम के साथ नहीं बाॅंधा जाये।
Kabir Mann markat bhaya, nek na kahu thahrai
Hari nam bandhai bina, jit bhabai tit jaye.
Kabir says the mind has become a monkey, it does not stay for a moment
It goes where it likes, if it is not tied with the name of God.
कबीर मन मिरतक भया, दुरबल भया शरीर
पाछै लागा हरि फिरय, कहै कबीर कबीर।
कबीर कहते है की उनका मन-मिजाज मर गया है और शरीर भी अत्यधिक क्षीण हो गया है।
तब प्रभु सर्वदा उनके पीछे लगे रहते है और कबीर-कबीर पुकारते रहते हैं।
Kabir Mann mirtak bhaya,durbal bhaya sharir
Pachhai laga Hari firay, kahay Kabir Kabir.
The mind of Kabir is dead,the body has become weak
The God is always behind me,calling Kabir Kabir.
मन मुरीद संसार है, गुरु मुरीद कोय साध
जो माने गुरु बचन को , ताका मता अगाध.
यह तन संपुर्ण संसार का प्रेमी है लेकिन गुरु का प्रेमी कोई साधु ही होता है।
जो अपने गुरु के वचन को स्वीकार करता है उसका बिचार अगम अगाध होता है।
Mann murid sansar hai,guru murid koye sadh
Jo Manne guru bachan ko,taka mata agadh.
The world is loved by mind, the guru is loved by a saint
One who minds the words of guru,his views are very deep.
येह मन मैला नीच है, नीच करम सुहाय
अमृत छारै मन करै, विषय प्रीति सो खाये।
यह मन गंदा और नीच प्रकृति का है। इसे केवल नीच कर्म हीं अच्छा लगता है।
यह जानबूझ कर भी अमृत को छोड़ देता है और केवल बिषय-वासना में लिप्त रहता है।
Yeh Mann maila neech hai,neech karam suhai
Amrit chharai Mann karai,vishai priti so khaye.
This mind is dirty and lowly,likes only low actions
Knowingly leaves the nectar and eats only the sensual pleasures.
अकथ कथा या मन की, कहै कबीर समुझाय
जो याको समझा परै, ताको काल ना खाय।
इस मन की कथा अनन्त है। कबीर इसे समझा कर कहते हैं।
जिसने इसबात को समझ लिया है उसका काल भी कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकता है।
Aakath katha ya Mann ki,kahai Kabir samujhai
Jo yako samjha parai,tako kal na khai.
The mind has infinite tales, Kabir tells it advisingly
one who understands it, the death does not eat him.
इन पांचो से बांधीया, फिर फिर धरै सरीर
जो येह पांचो बसि करै, सोई लागे तीर।
पाॅंच बिषय-वासनाओं में बंध कर मनुष्य अनेक वार जन्म लेकर शरीर धारण करता है।
जो इन पाॅंचो को अपने वश में कर लेता है वह इस भवसागर के पार लगजाता है।
In pancho se bandhiya,fir fir dharai sarir
Jo yeh pancho basi karai,soi lage teer.
The mind takes several births as it is tied with the five senses
One who controls these five, crosses the worldly sea.
सात समुद्र की ऐक लहर, मन की लहर अनेक
कोइ ऐक हरिजन उबरा, डुबि नाव अनेक।
साॅंतो समुद्र की लहरें एक ही है पर मन में अनेक प्रकार की लहरें हैं।
शायद कोई एक प्रभु भक्त इससे मुक्ति पाता हे। किंतु अनेकों नाव इसमें डूब चुके हैं।
Sat samudra ki ek lahar,Mann ki lahar anek
Koi ek harijan ubara,doobi naw anek.
There is one wave in all the seven seas,there are many waves in mind
A devotee of God is liberated, many a boats have sunk.
